Denis Wick Euphonium Mouthpieces
Most "American" euphoniums require a large shank mouthpiece. Any large shank mouthpiece (including those made for trombone) will fit a euphonium that requires a large shank mouthpiece.
Denis Wick euphonium mouthpieces come in three shank sizes: model numbers ending in 'M' are medium (European) shank models; 4AY and 6BY are small shank; all others are large shank.
From boyhood beginnings in amateur bands and orchestras, Denis Wick became a principal player in the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 25. He worked with some of the world's greatest musicians and conductors there for 31 years until his retirement.
Denis Wick enjoys an international reputation as a virtuoso trombonist and brass teacher. Mr. Wick's interest in mouthpiece design began when he evolved his own mouthpiece after many years of careful experimenting. In consultation with Britain's finest brass players, Denis Wick began to develop better mouthpieces, using both traditional and new ideas.
All Denis Wick Mouthpieces have been individually designed and continually modified under Mr. Wick's personal supervision until absolute perfection of tone quality and intonation has been achieved.
The British virtuoso Steven Mead has cooperated in the subtle design modifications needed to make the finest range of euphonium mouthpieces. Although they are all based on the well worked principles of the Denis Wick trombone mouthpieces, they all offer small but significant refinements which make them the choice of some of the best euphonium players.
Denis Wick euphonium mouthpieces are available in 5 cup diameters -- 10 models including 5 Steven Mead models. All models beginning with "SM" were designed with the cooperation of Steven Mead.
